Cobble Boat Races and Heritage Day North Fife

This year the Cobble Boat Races with the support Celebrating Fife funding was a larger local community event. Below are just some of the local interests presented.

Sir Walter Menzies Campbell CBE QC chats with visitors after opening the Celebrating Fife Cobble Boat Races and Heritage Day Newburgh North Fife.

Newburgh Sailing Club is situated in northern Fife on the south shores of the river Tay, along the A913 between Perth to the West and Newport-on-Tay to the east. The Club enjoys stunning views up and down the river and across the valley over Mugdrum Island in the centre of the river, which happens to be one of the largest reed beds in Europe, and, home to much wildlife.

The Scottish Coastal Rowing Association was formed on 29 May 2010 to continue the initiative to restart Coastal Rowing & Racing around the Scottish Coastline and on inland Lochs.

Newburgh Flower Show, tomorrow 21st August at 2pm.

Newburgh Community Trust Wind Power Project just one of many positive developments happening the now.
In recent years the people of Newburgh have shown what can be achieved through working together with a number of public agencies and funding bodies. Several local groups have had great success in promoting various projects and have taken pride in the finished work. To help continue this trend Newburgh Community Trust has been set up to assist in taking further projects forward.

Newburgh Orchard Group.Newburgh Orchard Group (NOG) was formed by local people in June 2002. Its aims are:

- to preserve, maintain and develop Newburgh’s heritage as an historic fruit growing area;
- to enable local people to gain enjoyment and economic benefit from fruit growing;
- to see Newburgh put on the Tourist Trail as Scotland’s Fruit Town;
- to create a resource of which the people of Newburgh will be proud;
- to research Newburgh’s fruit heritage and to preserve its ancient fruit varieties;
- to build up a network of fruit tree owners and bring people, skills and resources together.
